The Jewish Mother’s Guide to Style: In God We Trust Sweet Nothings Pendant Necklace

They say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and how right they are. All things sparkly are definitely a way to a woman’s heart, mind, body and soul – or at least they are the way to mine. I was raised with an understanding that my Jewish heritage made its way in the diamond district, and do not find it wrong or materialistic to think any man worth my time should honor such a strong rooted, glimmering cultural history. I also understand that our culture is rooted in frugality – so for those who cannot afford such luxuries, I always like to keep my eyes peeled for other, recession-proof options.

One of my favorite pieces for occasions when you want to spell out exactly how you feel to someone you love, like sometimes, or your friend with benefits is the Sweet Nothings Pendant necklace from one of my favorite downtown boutiques, In God We Trust. These small, dainty brass pendants are an affordable $40.00 (Fifty bucks for custom phrases) and perfect for days when your loved ones make you want to spend just a small amount to tell them just how sexy, cute, loved or adorable they are. While these pieces also feature naughty and at times vulgar phrases that you may not want to wear around your neck, some of their actually sweet phrases definitely make them worthy of Jewish Mother’s Guide acclaim. As thoughtful as these sweet hearts may be, I urge you to inquire as to whether your loved one has a metal allergy before gifting this piece; I assume the reaction you were hoping to get from this gift was not an allergic one. That being said, I recently bought a good friend of mine "Balls to the Wall" for her birthday and would certainly melt if a certain someone presented me with one of a number of these. With engravings ranging from "Wonder Buns" to "Let’s Sail Away," In God We Trust makes sure there is a sweet nothing for any and all of your loving, caring, and not so G-Rated needs.

In God We Trust is located at 265 Lafayette Street and at 153 Ludlow in Manhattan as well as in Brooklyn at 135 Wythe Street. For those who cannot visit them in person, visit their site at InGodWeTrustNYC.com
