- Alleged dog-fighting has been exposed at a day-care center outside of Chicago. Three men have been arrested after allowing children to play just feet from a fighting dog. Safety inspections, anybody?
- Khloe Kardashian is getting married – this weekend – leaving her guests scrambling for gifts and gowns. She will wed L.A. Lakers player Lamar Odom on Sunday.
- Over 1,000 Anglo-Saxon artifacts from around the seventh century A.D. have been discovered outside of Birmingham, England by an unemployed metal detectorist. It has been deemed "treasure" by the coroner. All in a day’s work, right? [Editor’s Note: Is "detectorist" a real word? You know what? I don’t care. It sounds funny.]
- Today marks the mass of the world’s 20 largest economies gathering in Pittsburgh, of all places, for the G-20 summit. With it, of course, comes protestors.
- After the biggest dust storm in more than 70 years on Wednesday, Sydney is scrambling to wipe reddish grit from the surfaces of everything in the city. Transportation has finally resumed a normal pace after "the day the country blew into the town."
- Mackenzie Phillips has released a tell-all book about years of an incestuous (and consensual) relationship with her father, "Papa John" of The Mamas and the Papas.
