<p>I believe that painting should speak for itself, much as music, film and dance do. One rarely asks a dancer to explain the meaning of his or her performance. We are expected to watch it and enjoy the depth and grace of the dance, and take our own meanings from it.</p>
<p>Too many artists these days are boring and given to long-winded explanations about how their work is meaningful. As for me, I paint what I like and I work with themes that are both personal and universal. I am glad that some people have found meaning in my work and I hope that more people will continue to connect with me as I paint into the future.</p>
