Despite the role of Jews in comedy in America, there tend to be very few members of the Tribe hosting late-night talk shows. So kudos to Conan O’Brien for taking his show on the road, or rather, on an El-Al flight; Conan has come to Israel.

“Conan Without Borders” is an ongoing show special; O’Brien created an episode earlier this year where he visited and produced his show in Mexico. And now, he’s in the Holy Land, eating the food, seeing the sites, and meeting, God help us, Israelis.

Lisa Kudrow’s son went to the mall to buy a video game and returned home a man—thanks to Chabad. The actress recounted the amusing story to long-time pal Conan O’Brien earlier this week, after he berated her for not inviting him to her son’s bar mitzvah. Turns out the event was entirely out of her auspices: young Julian was approached by a “Jewish organization” at the mall, asked if he was of the tribe, replied in the affirmative—and moments later was wearing a kippah and tefillin and saying a bracha. (Apparently there’s a selfie to prove it.) Boom. Instant manhood. Or, in Kudrow’s words, a “drive-by bar mitzvah.” Mazal tov!

Every time I rewatch one of Mel Brooks’ films, I’m brought back to my grandfather’s house, where my siblings and I would sit in the living room, drinking hot chocolate, and demand a rewind so that we could watch the movie again, immediately. Seriously, let’s all just watch Robin Hood: Men in Tights tonight. We deserve it.

Two nutty dog owners threw an absurdly lavish wedding ceremony for their dogs, who I’m sure we can all agree would’ve rather just humped each other out back. The event set a Guinness World Record for the most expensive pet wedding in history, which is good, since the owner (mother?) of one of the dogs said crazy things like “My reputation is on the line.” Reputation intact!

Who was the lucky rabbi officiating this beautiful ceremony? None other than Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, the crass creation of Jewish comedian Robert Smigel (happy belated birthday, btw!). No one in the well-coiffed human/canine audience one was spared.

“Of course this is a Jewish wedding,” he told the crowd, “so when they took Baby Hope to get fixed, she said ‘Start with the nose.”
