The unstoppable Tavi Gevinson dropped by The Colbert Report last night, wearing an extremely festive sweater for the occasion. The 16-year-old Rookie editor talked about her high school English class (she hasn’t read the assigned Robert Frost poems yet, oops) and the mysterious world of teenage girls.

Colbert suggests he write a column for Rookie called ‘You’re Not Wearing That’ (which would actually be hilarious), and then Gevinson offers the 48-year-old dad some One Direction-themed fashion advice. The best part is when she explains that his show is a ‘cool dad show,’ and that she watched it last night with her very own cool dad.

He doesn’t really understand, so she breaks it down for him: “Other Capital C Capital D ‘Cool Dads’ like your cool dad show.” She rules.

Our favorite publishing mini-mogul is at it again. She’s signed with Hollywood agency UTA, and is set to star in her first film—playing the role of a precocious young girl named Chloe. The Hollywood Reporter has the scoop:

Gevinson and the agency have just closed a deal for her to make her acting debut in writer/director Nicole Holofcener’s untitled new film at Fox Searchlight. She will play the role of Chloe, an only child who never received much attention from her parents, forcing her to grow up faster than her peers. While Gevinson has quite attentive parents — as noted in the New York Times feature — she can definitely relate to growing up faster than her peers.

Rookie, Tavi Gevinson’s online teen magazine that is anything but a teen magazine, published an interview with Carrie Brownstein today, and something big happened midway through. While the endlessly talented Brownstein, writer and star of IFC’s Portlandia and a 2010 Big Jewcy, was explaining how she taught herself to play guitar, Tavi chimed in unexpectedly:

TAVI: Guys, sorry to interrupt, but I just had bacon for the first time.

ANAHEED: What?!

CARRIE: You loved it!

ANAHEED: Wait, you’ve never had bacon before? You totally did it the right way: you didn’t pre-announce that you were about eat bacon for the first time.

CARRIE: Because then we would’ve been watching you. And now there’s bacon on everything else we ordered, so.

Mazel tov, Tavi, and welcome to the club.
