We’re gonna go to shul and bang on our chests to repent. How do other people do it?
As we encounter this month of Elul and the High Holidays, the end/beginning of the Jewish year, this path of ease and comfort begins to fade as the mood of the calendar brings us face to face with our beliefs.
Maybe this could be a new tradition in my life — instead of orange juice and bagels, I keep going with the fast, and add more meaning to it.
I was incredibly moved by Rosh Hashanah. It’s a beautiful and exciting holiday and I had a great first experience. My faith in the conversion is definitely back in full swing. I can only hope that it keeps getting better from here on out.
