We at the Jewcy HQ don’t leave our interviewees high and dry. Like the proud Jew parents were are likely to become, we make sure to keep tabs on those we’ve written about. This is partially due to our patron and matronly attributes, and mostly due to the desire we have to discover someone on this site who then goes on to become, well… the Jewish Michael Jackson, Joan Didion, Anna Wintour – you get the picture. Said tabs have certainly been kept on our first ever Big Jewcy members, since it was us that made it clear that they were people to watch. And so, we’ve been watching Mr. Mort via his website as he treks through San Francisco, meets hippie rabbis, designs for Levi Strauss and creates awesomely catchy hashtags on his Twitter page.
In his most recent post, Mort met a Hippie Dippie Rabbi which allowed him to use, yet again, his witty Twitter hashtag of #HippieDippieSanFranSkippie. This rabbi, a mix of Woodstock and Santa Claus grabbed Mort’s attention somewhere, I presume, between Williamsburg, Brooklyn and (hopefully) the closest laundromat. [Yes, I made a dirty hipster joke, calm down]. Going on what Mort told me for the Big Jewcy about what makes him tick, I presume this rabbi possessed a San Franciscan sartorialism that drew him in and made him snap a few pics, likely before the subject ever noticed him. Mort owns his creeperdom and his love for taking pictures when his subjects are unawares. But I’m pretty sure had this chill rabbi known he was being photog’d by Mr. Mort, he would not have snuck a peek of his reflection in the nearest window to ensure every hair was in place.
Check out Mr. Mort on Twitter and work to make #HippieDippieSanFranSkippie a trending topic! It sure beats today’s trending items of Mel Gibson, Oil Spill and…Enrique?
