People don’t normally think of hip-hop when they think “Mideast Peace Talks,” but a lot of people didn’t think outside the box quite like Muslim rapper Mazzi, and Israeli rapper Sneakas did with their collaborative effort, Most Hated. While it’s been a good run, according to Sneakas, the duo have parted ways. When asked if the split was on good terms, Sneakas told me:
“The split was 100% amicable. I wish Mazzi the best of luck and leave the door open for future collaboration.”
While one collaboration has dissolved, Sneakas is fast to point out he will continue to work with Muslim rappers in an effort to explore narratives of coexistence between cultures:
“Hip hop is the music of the people — the young and the disenfranchised. I think that through the Peace in the Middle East project, we can reach the youth in a way that politicians can’t. With that grassroots movement, we can definitely take huge strides towards peace.
