Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, the founders of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, are basically two of the most important Jews in the history of our people. From the classics (Chunky Monkey, Phish Food, Cherry Garcia) to the vogue (AmeriCone Dream, Coffee, Coffee BuzzBuzzBuzz!), these guys are always all up in the ice cream zeitgeist.
Not surprisingly, Ben & Jerry’s has done it again. A limited edition flavor: Ron Burgundy’s Scotchy Scotch Scotch, in honor of the cinematic arrival of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The movie, which might be mediocre, premieres on December 20, but more pressing is the ice cream, which will be available at your local supermarket in just two weeks. While there’s no actual liquor in the flavor, there’s a ton of butterscotch. And you know what they say, butterscotch is better than scotch.
So plan a scotch-themed party. Make some Rob Roys, serve some Scotchy Scotch Scotch, and let Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy play in the background. Your guests will probably throw up. But it’ll be worth it.
We love you, Ben and Jerry.
