Over at the New Yorker website, Gary Belsky put together a best-of list to end all year-end best-of lists: The Hundred Best Lists of All Time. He includes the classics (The Dewey Decimal System; Richard Nixon’s “Enemies List”), the ever-changing (Maxim’s “Hot 100”; Crains’s “40 Under 40“); the essential (Shit List; Craigslist), and the quirky (The World Rock Paper Scissors player’s responsibility code; Fibonacci Sequence).
There were also a few very Jewish lists that made the cut:
100. Generations of Adam (Genesis) (An Old Testament classic)
83. Maimonides’s “13 Principles of Faith” (83? Come on!)
13. Schindler’s list (He said it, not me)
4. The Ten Commandments (The OG list)
