Seriously, what is it with my fellow Chicagoans and the need they all feel to bring up the treyf? In this case, it was the Chicago Tribune’s saying that the book industry’s failing over the past however many years could be remedied by reading the hog playbook of the hog industry, and going for a “Pork. The Other White Meat” type of campaign.
I know Carl Sandburg forever labeled the Windy City as the “hog butcher of the world,” but couldn’t we do something a little more Jew friendly?

What was it Woody Allen said about Sylvia Plath? Oh yes, it was, “Interesting poetess whose tragic suicide was misinterpreted as romantic by the college girl mentality.” I guess I believe that logic, but I also rather liked reading The Bell Jar whenever it was I read it.
