Today I found out that I am part of a small percentage of a minority that thinks the film The Princess Bride is “Most Jewish.” When given a chance to choose between hairy legs, Battlestar Galactica, Costco, and salt, I attempted to click the latter two at the same time, but found I was unable to do that.
I don’t really get the Most Jewish game, created by the Reconstructive Jewish movement. Is it there to make you feel bad because you click something and aren’t as Jewish as anybody else? Or is it there to enforce stereotypes like Jews eating early bird specials while having weak stomachs? And does anybody else get uncomfortable picking between Gay Pride, Marx Brothers movies and Reproductive Rights? Can’t we just say that as a single Jewish person, I think all three of these things are Jewish?
I think it’s fair to chalk this up as outreach FAIL.
