This is really a thing. The Jewish Journal is spearheading an effort to raise money—$9 million, to be precise—to finance a Woody Allen movie filmed in Israel (Allen has said he films his movies in the countries that offer the most appealing financial incentives).
With 45 days remaining until the August 23 fundraising deadline, 14 donors have contributed, raising only $907 of the necessary $9 million. The rest of the plan involves recruiting a Hollywood hotshot to match the $9 million, amounting to an auspicious total of $18 million for the Woodman.
Will they meet the deadline? Will Allen take the chai-million? And, most important, WHAT WILL HE TITLE THE MOVIE?
