A previous editor of Jewcy.com and the current editor and writer of The Gloss and Save the Assistants, Lilit Marcus has proved more than anyone that being a blogger does not immediately correlate with being a couch-bound computer geek. Having recently sold the TV rights to her newly published book, Lilit is sitting pretty at the offices of The Gloss, breaking news stories that do not always skew towards fashion. Not a conventional fashion writer, Lilit has taken The Gloss on a more pop-culture, wider ranged path. In a discussion about stories and trends she has broken or written recently, she disclosed a trend to her current pieces that typically remains untapped by the everyday fashion writer. "I’ve been carving out a beat for myself: ‘fashion technology.’ I’ve written about things like USB cufflinks and boots that can charge your phone foryou. Those stories tend to land on technology sites instead of fashion ones, and I want The Gloss to stay on top of those advancements." As for Save the Assistants, Lilit is finding perfect ways to bridge her current place in the fashion community with her otherwise literary one, "I sold the exclusive first excerpt rights [of Save the Assistants] to Cosmopolitan for their August issue. I’m excited, I think age wise it’s appropriate because a lot of their readers are in their teens and early twenties and likely to be in assistant jobs." When I asked about her plans for the future, both personal and professional, Lilit discussed plans to write more books as well as some other, more exciting goals, "my ultimate goal is to move toParis, at least for a couple of years."
