Here are today’s top stories in no particular order:
- Airplane debris has been spotted off the Atlantic coast. Presuming it could be among the wreckage of the Air France jet that went missing yesterday, ships have been deployed to search the surrounding areas of water in hopes of finding the plane, which carried 228 people.
- Former Vice President Dick Cheney has come out in support of gay marriage, a move that may surprise some due to his right-wing political standing, but doesn’t surprise others who recall that one of his daughters is a lesbian.
- President Obama has embarked on a mission to repair the image of he U.S. in the Muslim world. He hopes this will strengthen relations between the U.S. and many Middle Eastern nations.
- Poor parenting strikes again! An Arizona mother allegedly used her young sons and their friends to form a gang-like alliance to help her commit more than twenty armed robberies.
- The Chinese government has taken away the tweeting rights of its citizens, blocking the popular social networking site, Twitter, from its national internet.
- More hometown news goes national after a car crashed into a local Walmart in Danvers, Massachusetts, injuring a mother and her baby. The 93-year-old driver apparently stepped on the gas instead of the brake in his Toyota Camry and drove clear into two cash registers inside the store. None of the injuries sustained are life-threatening, but the store is facing at least $50,000 in damages. Only seven months after the Black Friday Walmart massacre where anxious shoppers busted down the front end of the store, I think I’m going to take to wearing a helmet next time I shop the super store.
This is certainly a awesome write-up. Thanks for bothering to describe all of this out for us. It is a great help!
