- Richard Gere, Buddhist actor-activist, was in Washington to lobby for Congressional support of Tibet, saying that, in the wake of Obama’s election, a Tibetan leader could be in the cards for China. This comes on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the Dalai Lama’s exile.
- For the first time in its nine year run, Oprah Winfrey’s magazine, O, will have someone other than Oprah on the cover. She’s sharing the spotlight for the April issue with First Lady Michelle Obama.
- A suicide bomber attacked a procession of Muslims celebrating a religious holiday in Sri Lanka this morning. 14 were killed and a government minister suffered critical injuries.
- YouTube has made a move to block music videos in the U.K. after the Performance Rights Society for Music requested high licensing fees to allow the videos to remain.
- The space shuttle Discovery has been cleared for a Wednesday launch to complete the power system on the International Space Station and deliver Japan’s first live-aboard astronaut.
