Jewcy Zeitgeist: Japan Threatens North Korea, Obama Optimistic About Economy, and Sears Tower Gets New Name

  • Japan has threatened that it may shoot down a North Korean satellite that’s due to launch next month.
  • After three strong days on Wall Street, President Obama says he is "highly optimistic" about the economy.
  • H. Rodgin Cohen has become the fourth nominee to the Treasury Department to withdraw his name from the running for deputy Treasury secretary.
  • The World Bank says that government stimulus packages are not enough to revitalize the economy. World Bank President Robert Zoellick says that 2009 will be a "very dangerous year."
  • Chicago’s Sears Tower, the tallest office building in the Western hemisphere, is getting a name change. It will now be called the Willis Tower, Willis Group Holdings said.
