So apparently the reports of Ami Shalev — lead singer of Israeli rock n’ roll machine Monotonix — breaking his leg, were greatly exaggerated (see video below). According to a press release by the bands label, Drag City:
"First of all, we’d like to thank everyone who worried about Ami’s leg. Just to clear things up – it was never broken, but severely hurt. Ami has been undergoing intense physiotherapy that allowed him to tour Australia and the US in March and April, and the shows have been great. He’s in perfect shape, but to prevent future problems he might need an operation later in the year."
Can nothing stop this juggernaut? They are gearing up to roll across Europe with a little known band named Pavement, and looking at their tour dates, we’re wondering at what point is this generations Iggy Pop (sans the drugs) going to take a five minute break? Stay tuned.
