One of the ongoing themes of the Big Jewcy is that we’re highlighting people who see something–be it art, social justice, food– and realize that somebody has to make sure the world knows about whatever it is they feel strongly about.
For Sara Kiener, film is her life, and she wants everybody to know about the movies she feels passionate about. That’s why she was a co-founder of the boutique marketing and outreach company Film Presence, in 2009.
“A lot of the time I work on social issue documentaries that have limited budgets for advertisements so I feel a lot of responsibility to really connect with as many organizations, activists and educators so that people hear about these important films and issues.”
Since then, Sara has worked with everybody from Lucy Walker’s Oscar nominated Waste Land, to James Franco’s portrayal of Allen Ginsberg in Howl.
