The Weekly Lipa

Much to our disappointment, Lipa did not tweet much this week – but the little he did was more than enough to give us our weekly dose of his ESL antics. As per usual, one of Lipa’s friends celebrated the birth of a child this week. While not a wonderfully joyous occasion, as this baby was a girl, Lipa tweeted a congratulations rather than a picture from an event celebrating the birth. At first we were distraught that he neglected to include a twitpic, then we reminded ourselves that if we had just birthed a baby girl, we would see no cause to celebrate either. We’ll just wait until next week’s round of births when someone is bound to give us a cause for celebration, then we’ll raise a glass of Manischewitz and dance around our living rooms. Wonder if this Suri will be as stylish and attended to by the tabloid as Suri Cruise…

Then Lipa shared this sweet nothing with us and taught us that even thinking about work anywhere around the time of Shabbat is out of the question. However, it seems that for Lipa thinking about anything at all around the time of "Shabbos" is out of the question, hence his mispelling of the basic word "when." We actually see no excuse for such a blatant mispelling of such a basic word. Odds are we would mispell Yiddish words…but then again, we don’t communicate publicly in Yiddish.

Then we got to thinking – could the reason behind the Service Tweet below be that Lipa created his wrongly
spelled Twitter account right before "Shoibbos"? We assume that in the minutes right before the holy day of rest his brain is in full snooze mode, resembling the consistency of melted cheese. When our brains feel like that, we also can’t spell our own names…right?
