Has VanityKippah.com, whose Barack Obama "Obamica" was featured by Jewcy as a "Must-Have" item back in August, gone kaput?
Commenter "good customer" thinks so. More than four months after the last comment was left in our original write-up, ‘good customer’ posted this:
I doubt anyone is wearing one of these: I ordered two from Shmuly, who promised deliver in "3 -5 days". 18 days after payment was confirmed, no kippot, and no response from any of my many emails.
Best case scenario: poor customer service and terrible communication. Worst-case: I’ve been ripped-off. Anyone else?
Anyone? The last correspondence we have on record with Shmuel Tennenhaus, the site’s owner, was back in October.
We emailed him on Thursday but, like ‘good customer’, we’ve yet to receive a reply. Here’s hoping something good comes out of this. If anyone has any more news, please let us know!
UPDATE: Shmuly contacted us this morning and explains that he had intended to disable checkout on VanityKippah, presumably since the end of the election. He reports that he has issued a refund and a complementary Obamica to the user in question. Thanks Shmuly!
