Last year, the brain trust at Jewcy HQ decided it might be a nice idea to make a list of a few people we really liked that our readers had to know about.
That list started at ten, then got up to 25, 50, 75, until finally we settled on an even hundred people that we had to tell you about in one week. We called this class of fascinating folk The Big Jewcy. In seven days we presented activists, foodies, writers, bloggers, music makers, troublemakers, and all other sorts of interesting people. We had such a good time that we figured we should do it again.
Starting June 1st, we bring you our second annual Big Jewcy list. One twist this year – we’re looking for nominations for this year’s class, and we’re asking for you, our fantastic readers, to help us out. Know somebody who is doing something exceptional we should know about? E-mail us BigJewcy@Jewcy.com, use the subject line “Big Jewcy 2011,” and let us know who they are, and how we can get in touch with them.
Then on Wednesday, June 15th, we’re taking over the beautiful Brooklyn Winery for a bash celebrating this group of amazing folks, and you should join us.
Tickets are available for a mere 8 bucks in advance HERE or $10 at the door. Space at
Brooklyn Winery is limited so get your tickets early.
Jewcy is a reader-supported non-profit website, and all proceeds will go to keeping our lights and computers on so that we can continue bringing you ideas that matter to young Jews today. We are dedicated to presenting a spectrum of voices, content, and discussion.
Please help us spread the word on Facebook!
