Ah, the Ha'aretz website commentariat: that magical confederation of foaming-at-the-mouth Jew-haters and "transfer"-espousing mega-Zionists who get together to really let their nutball flag fly high.
Alas, it's my sad duty to report that the salad days of the Ha'aretz website comment section may be over. Apparently Ha'aretz was tired of serving as free web hosting for people's bigot-whackjob rants, and they're now experimenting with a new set of guidelines for comments. Here it is:
Censorship will be unapologetic.
Political orientation will have absolutely no bearing on whether a comment is posted or rejected.
Respondents are urged to relate with seriousness to the issues raised, rather than out of rote allegiance to slogan or slur.
The following will be grounds for deletion:
1. Racist remarks, as well as slurs on the basis of religion, ethnicity and gender.
2. Use of the terms Nazi, Hitler, ethnic cleansing, to describe the actions and policies of Israelis, Palestinians or other parties to the Israel-Arab conflict.
3. Disparaging remarks, personal attacks, vulgarities and profanities directed at other participants in the forum.
4. Advocacy of violence against individuals or religious, ethnic or racial groups, including statements which may be construed as urging attacks on leaders, officials, security forces or civilians.
5.Use of the phrase: "There are no Palestinians" or derivatives thereof
The the very next time I just read a weblog, Lets hope it doesnt disappoint me about this. Get real, Yes, it was my choice to read, but I really thought youd have some thing interesting to say. All I hear is a few whining about something you could fix if you ever werent too busy in search of attention.
