Here’s the short version of the story: a nun moves from Kentucky to a place that welcomes you in with a sign that says “oy vey” (that being Brooklyn, New York), and she comes to the fast realization that her last name is a very popular Yiddish slang word. We won’t ruin the entire piece you can read at The Atlantic, but we will tell you that the best line in the entire piece was “At one point, there were 400 Schmucks in America.”
