Over at The Faster Times, a piece titled “Why It Would Be Better if Christopher Hitchens Died Sooner Rather Than Later” does a really good job at grabbing your attention, but also makes you question your faith in humanity when the writer talks about the merits of Christopher Hitchens dying from the cancer that is currently eating away inside of him, then ties it all together by talking about his own personal books in progress (Allen Salkin, the author of the piece also wrote the holiday classic Festivus: The Holiday for the Rest of Us).
I’m always on the fence as to whether I think Hitchens is a genius or a blowhard, but I think I’ll let some of the comments from Salkin’s piece do the talking instead of me investing any more of my personal feelings into the piece:
