It’s no secret that comedian Sarah Silverman loves to berate anti-feminist, anti-choice politicians on her Twitter page. But last week, one of her tweets got taken a little too seriously. In response to Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) signing a bill that will require a woman to get an ultrasound before an abortion so that she may make an “informed choice.” Silverman tweeted:
I'd very much like to anally probe @govwalker each time he needs to make an "informed decision" http://t.co/oAcUsGd3eb

This was all fine and expected from Silverman, but when Colorado Democratic Rep. Joe Salazar retweeted the micro-missive this week, his state’s Republicans got pretty mad.
“It’s fine to disagree with Gov. Walker, but it’s not okay for Joe Salazar to call for the governor to be raped,” Owen Loftus, Colorado Republican Committee spokesman, stated. “Rep. Salazar’s tweet is demeaning and offensive to victims everywhere.”
Maybe leave the jokes to the professionals next time, Salazar.
