The Big Jewcy: Rob Markoff – Digging Through Record Crates Turns To Jewish Freak Folk Delights

There is nothing quite as exhilarating as digging through countless milk crates of worthless LPs and finally finding that one chunk of vinyl gold.  A record that will either beef up yur bank account via Ebay, or possibly change your life.

The latter is the story of Rob Markoff.

After playing in a number of indie bands on and off for the last decade, Markoff found divine inspiration via a copy of the 1970s album, “Sing out, it’s Shabbos,” and decided that the album could sound better.

That’s how he came up with the idea for the Sabbapath album, which we posted a few months earlier.
