Remember little Adolf Hitler Campbell, the toddler whose parents sued a local store for refusing to make a cake with his name written on it? He, along with sisters JoyceLynn Aryan Nation and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie, was removed from his parents’ home. The local Holland Township, PA, police department did not offer a reason for why the three young children (Adolf is three, JoyceLynn one, and Honszlynn just eight months old) were removed from their parents’ custody. Police chief David Gilson said "his department did not receive any reports of abuse or negligence," but he could not be more specific because of confidentiality laws.
That said, the department did confirm that the kids’ removal didn’t have anything to do with either their names or the earlier "birthday cake incident." Needless to say, though, that’s the part of the case that everybody is interested in. After all, if it’s not abuse or negligence, then what is it? Has the state of Pennsylvania declared that naming your kid after Adolf Hitler is a form of abuse? Because I might actually buy that. Or perhaps it’s like that Simpsons episode where the whole thing was a misunderstanding and they got it resolved just in time to keep the Flanderses from baptizing Maggie.
A hearing with the Campbells was scheduled for yesterday but has been postponed until next week. Until then, the children are most likely still in state custody.
