When I read the article on Cate Blanchett acting alongside Christian Bale, Richard Gere, and Heath Ledger as one of the many personas of Bob Dylan in the new Dylan biopic, I immediately defaulted to that "Sesame Street" song, Who Doesn't Belong. As an "artiste", naturally Dylan's many personas are up for scrutiny and hoity-toity art-speak representation, but listening to Cate Blanchett get all theatrical over her contribution makes me wanna cut myself. Like repeatedly.
"Bob Dylan’s persona is divided into six different parts,” she says. “ I play Bob Dylan when he went electric, so I had the hair. It’s not a biopic. I think when you kind of juxtapose all those different incarnations you get an approximation of him.”
Ok, so I get the Dylan is one of the best American poets of our time spiel, but must we dissect this man's psyche so? Keep in mind that his brain is fried as a result of him being high on something for at least 3/4 of his life.
Have you ever thought about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and all. Nevertheless think of if you added some great pictures or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and video clips, this blog could undeniably be one of the greatest in its field. Excellent blog!
