Happy Valentine’s Day: A Gratuitiously Cheesy Post

I got married last night. I'm incredibly happy, hungover a bit, and in a state of wild euphoria mixed with bouts of dreamy delusion. This might prevent me from being effectively snarky today, but maybe it'll help a bit in conveying what I've learned about love in the past two months since I've only known my husband for two months. I've learned that despite the nervous energy that's always going to be produced in ample quantities by me that there lies a peaceful calm. And while my knee-jerk tendency is always going to be to write personal unfiltered copy, sometimes at a grave disservice to my personal life, I can be discrete and protective when I find a relationship that warrants it. I've also learned that communication comes in so many different, varying forms and that the ability to communicate harmoniously resonates from all parts of the body and isn't always dependent on your ability to speak the same language perfectly, but your willingness to understand where your partner is coming from. I've also learned that while compromise might be super hard initially, once you do it, you feel a certain high and you get the saying, "You don't cry, you don't grow" as my new husband likes to say with his thick Israeli accent. I cried a little during my marriage ceremony last night and I thought of those words. My reaction to our impending nuptials in the days preceding in the wedding was a lot of crying. Ironic that when you feel the happiest it doesn't naturally elicit a laugh, but a sob. But perhaps, that's also my way of communicating without words just how powerful love really is.
