Who’s to blame for the low census return in Williamsburg? NPR says it’s those wacky hipsters with their crazy mustaches and record store jobs, but as Free Williamsburg points out, it’s the Hasidic parts of the neighborhood that are seeing the lowest turnouts, not the "hip" parts. Really, who cares? The "hipsters" (can’t we stop using that term already?) can’t afford Williamsburg anymore, and do you really think the state government hasn’t already taken into consideration the fact that Hasids hardly ever fill out the census? Must be a slow news day.
