While in Paris hanging out with my friends Erik and Uri, we rented an apartment near the Bastille. It seems significant that I spent Passover, a holiday about
freedom from slavery, near the prison whose name is synonymous with
French Revolution.
Since most shops, cafes, and bars are closed on Easter Sunday, we decided to spend the day exploring Paris’ Jewish side. We had great food, met a lot of nice people, and got a sense of the City of Lights’ Jewish culture. [Side note: it is incredibly difficult to explain the pun of “Jewcy” to
people in another language. Some things, I suppose, are not intended to
translate well.]
good article, thanks a lot
