With the increased security at airports following an attempted plane bombing on Christmas Day, flyers around the country are reporting difficulty and delays as they try to travel, particularly those re-entering the U.S. from international airports. One of those delayed travelers was none other than comedienne and professional Oscar-dress-critiquer Joan Rivers, who was set to return home to New York after a vacation in Costa Rica. The star, who uses the name Rivers professionally but whose legal last name is Rosenberg (that of her late husband) was barred from getting on her returning flight because of confusion related to her passport, which reads "Joan Rivers aka Joan Rosenberg."
Due to the delay inspecting her passport and getting her through security, Joan’s seat was given away to someone else and the plane left without her. She was able to return to New York the following morning after the issue was cleared up. Rivers, now back home, told the New York Post: "If I was going to have a fake passport, I would never pick the name Rosenberg."
