Barack Obama seems to be solidifying his stance as Democratic candidate of choice with the Jewish lobby. Recently an email circulated from a Florida congressman "laying it on thick" the praise for the candidate:
“What has always struck me about Senator Obama – and this is one of the reasons that I have endorsed his candidacy for president – is that a love for Israel and a desire to keep the Jewish people secure is evident not just in his work, but also in his heart,” wrote Rep. Robert Wexler (D)
Others feels that Obama's diplomatic reconciliation rhetoric is just pomp. E.J. Kessler, a New York Post editor had this to say about Obama's success in garnering Jewish support: He "fails to understand the totalitarian politics and sensibilities of the folks over there, who are not well-meaning. His approach will appeal to a lot of lefty Jews, but it won't appeal to the serious players."
The above statement would explain Obama's Hollywood appeal, but perhaps Barbra Streisand would like a word with Kessler to dispute the mutual exclusion of serious players and lefty Jews.
