Walmart Can’t Say No To Nazi Paraphernalia

Back in November, Bent Corner reported that Walmart was selling shirts with Waffen-SS insignia. The news spread over the Internet and accordingly Walmart Corporate sent out a memo to store managers to take the shirts off the shelves permanently. Over a month later, consumers have pointed out that the shirts are indeed still being displayed prominently on shelves.

One blogger even went the extra mile of alerting the Walmart staff of the indiscretion. And here's his tale:

As I was walking away, I came across a display rack with at least another ten of the t-shirts folded on it. I went back and told the manager who was still taking a quick glance at the main t-shirt wall. He told me that must of been the reason they hadn’t found any before, to which I thought (but did not vocalize), "What manager wouldn’t know where things are in their own department?" While I don’t expect him to know every single t-shirt design Wal-Mart sells, I would think he would at least know all the locations t-shirts in his department are displayed. I personally think they didn’t want to have to go through all the t-shirts on the main wall because it was so messy, so they more or less ignored the memo. After all, I found the original and then the stack of ten without looking for more than a minute or two.

Again the manager thanked me for calling it to his attention, but then he asked me if I knew why the t-shirt was being pulled. Apparently the memo the managers received only told them to pull the t-shirts, but not why. He was shocked when he found out the real reason.
