While no one has taken responsibility for Tuesday's assassination in Damascus of notorious Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh, it would seem that someone at Google is certain that Israel is to blame.
Of course, the safe money is on the Mossad though Israel has publicly denied any involvement. Theories have surfaced placing the responsibility on everyone from the CIA to Iran and even Syria.
But you'll find no such ambiguity in the headline of an Associated Press article listed in Google's news feed. The headline, which links to the AP article as it appears on Time.com, reads: "Israel Kills Top Hezbollah Militant."
Time Magazine picked up the AP account of Mughniyeh's assassination, under the following headline:
But in the Google news feed, here is how the same article appears:
In other words, whoever is responsible for the news feed altered the headline to implicate Israel in the killing. Either that, or it was hacked.
